Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

We all have parts of our lives and our identities that we can be thankful for, whether it’s the people around us, the country we live in, or simply the fact that we’ve been bought and paid for by the blood of Christ. The bible encourages us not to be anxious about the present or the future, but to be thankful for God’s blessings, and to make our requests known to him. Prayer is powerful, and God is always listening.

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Having peace that passes understanding isn’t about your circumstances. True peace comes from God, but more than that, He gives us joy and hope through the Holy Spirit. What sets followers of Christ apart is that our ultimate hope and joy is our salvation, and despite the difficulties life throws at us, nothing can take that gift away from us.

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

Nowhere in God’s word does it promise that we will live peaceful and easy lives; but despite our situation, we can have peace in whatever we’re facing. Christ has overcome sin and death, and there is no challenge we will face that He is not familiar with. We will face tribulations, but we will never face them alone, nor will we face them forever.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The peace of God is a peace that cant be understood. Human nature would have us believe that peace comes from being in control of our circumstances, but true peace is knowing that our God is in control. By trusting in God and His plan we can rest easy knowing that, whatever happens, He will be by our side.

Hebrews 6:10 God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.

The sacrifice of time and effort that we put toward furthering God’s plan won’t go unnoticed by Him, and the Bible promises that there is treasure in heaven His workers. But even with the rich rewards of both heaven and earth, nothing is comparable to the welcome we will receive when we meet our Heavenly Father: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Romans 15:17 In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God.

Is there any effort on earth to be more proud of than work dedicated to God? What responsibility is more important than fulfilling God’s calling for your life? With Christ in our hearts and God guiding our actions, we can be proud of the things we’ve accomplished for Him.
