Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.

Jesus promised that He would return to make the world new, and He’s known for keeping His promises. He will wipe every tear from your eyes and bring you to a place where there is no pain, no sadness, and no death. Putting your sins at the foot of the cross and accepting Jesus as your Savior and King means that you will always have that fairy tale ending to look forward to. And in the meantime, good things will come from the Lord no matter how bad things get here on earth. Our God is an awesome God; He’s waiting for you in paradise, and all He asks is that you, in turn, wait patiently and faithfully for His timing.

A person with patience and self-control is easy to respect. People will listen more to someone who chooses their words carefully than a fool with no regard for the words they speak. Words are powerful, after all, and they can make or break your relationships with people. Even more than that, they shape the way people think about you, your faith, and even God. Patient words, especially in frustrating circumstances, will go a long way… not only in maintaining peace, but in impacting lives for Christ.

Many believers are stressing about what the world has become. Every day, humanity seems to stray further and further from God with hate, corruption, and selfishness. Celebrities careers are built on vanity and sin, and it can be demoralizing to see that kind of godlessness being praised. But earthly success is exactly what it sounds like: earthly success. Be patient and trust

in God; the good things that He is preparing for you in Heaven are so much greater than anything in this life.

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Anger and frustration are inevitable in your life, and the Bible doesn’t say that that’s a bad thing. In fact, the Word tells us that it’s okay to be angry, but not to let yourself fall victim to it. Be slow to anger; take time to think about things and to see them from a different point of view. In the same way, carefully choose the words that you speak, making sure they aren’t coming out of wrath. Lashing out at others damages not only your reputation, but the reputation of what a Christian looks like. It’s not a sin to be angry but remember that the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

As a Christian, Jesus wants you to do your best to exemplify Him to others. Compassion, kindness, humility, meekness and patience are something we should all practice on a daily basis. Patience, however, is one of the most important. Without patience, kindness is quickly replaced by frustration, and meekness is overshadowed by temper. You can’t always dictate what emotions you feel, but you can control how you react to those emotions. Instead of letting yourself be tossed about by every feeling and frustration you face, remember patience: an important attribute of a life lived for God.

God loves you on an indescribable level, and Jesus described that love like that of a father toward a child. If dads here on earth love and care for their children, imagine how much more God loves and cares for you! Relationships between parents and kids often don’t look like they should, but the Lord of the universe is also the Lord of love. He is caring, compassionate, generous, and just; the perfect Father, whose greatest gift was His sacrifice on the cross. He gave up everything to save you from your sins, and He doesn’t stop there. Your Father in Heaven can and will rain blessings and good things on your life; all you need to do is ask Him!
