“Put Your Outdoor Work in Order!”

Preparing the Site for Family Life’s New Headquarters

Have you ever been reading the Bible and a verse just seems to jump off the page because it speaks to you right where you are at?  You might have read that particular verse or passage many times before, but it has never connected with you quite like this time.  It is as if that verse was put there just for you and at just the right time.  As a follower of Jesus Christ, you know that God’s Spirit lives within you and there will be those times when the Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to speak directly to a need or an issue that you are facing.

Here at Family Life, we recently experienced exactly what I am referring to.  As we have made significant progress with our new facility venture this past year, the question arose as to what our year-end project should focus on.  Most of our efforts over the past number of months have been centered in an architectural redesign as the decision was made to take the existing building down and construct the new facility from the ground up.  The demolition work began this fall, so when our Board of Directors participated in a healthy discussion as to what our year-end project should be, one member quoted Proverbs 24:27 which was exactly meant for such a time as this.

You can help make the site ready for construction!

The New International Version of this verse says, “Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.”  That verse could not describe more perfectly where Family Life is with the building project!  Already, much work has been accomplished in getting the storm water management system in place, but there is still a little more work to do to complete it.  The first step in the actual building of a structure is the excavation, foundation, and in-ground utility work.  But before that can take place, work needs to be done to make the site ready for the construction of the building.

Right now, Family Life is looking to “put our outdoor work in order” as we are at the final phase of pre-construction.  Though it is an absolutely necessary part of the project, we admit that it is not the most glamorous.  We are very anxious to start seeing blocks being laid and walls being erected.  Daily, we seek the blessing of the Lord for this building to be used as a tool to bring glory to Him and bear much fruit.  But before we get to that point, it is important that we “get our fields ready” and soon after, then be able to “build our house”!

I will be right up-front with you – WE NEED YOUR HELP!  So many have contributed to bring us to the point we are at right now, but before actual construction can take place, there is still work to be done.  This work involves a lot of heavy equipment, a lot of earth moving, and a lot more gravel to be brought in.  It is a project that will cost up to $500,000 to prepare the site for the beginning of construction.  It is a project that God can use you and thousands like you to accomplish!

There are many ways that you can help Family Life with the

 “Building Our Future Together” project!

As you consider your year-end giving plan, we have included a couple of items you may want to examine.  The first is a brochure that details how your generosity can be used to drastically reduce or entirely eliminate your income tax liability.  This aspect of the CARES Act of 2020 has been extended through 2021.  The second item is not for everyone, but it might be worth your consideration as it specifies how your gift toward Family Life’s “Building Our Future Together” campaign can be used for naming and recognition opportunities.  This is something that you might consider in honoring or memorializing a family member or friend.

It was almost eight years ago that the Lord gave Family Life the vision of this new facility.  We have watched the Lord provide for every step of the way to get the ministry to this point.  He has miraculously supplied all the necessary funds so that no monies have had to be borrowed.  It is our prayer that God would lead you to help Family Life prepare the building site and thus follow the admonition of Proverbs 24:27, “Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.”

Thank you in advance for investing in this ministry that seeks to impact lives with the message of hope found in Jesus Christ. May God bless you this Christmas and holiday season as you give the gift that will continue to give hope for years to come.

Merry Christmas,
