Luke 1:33
And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.

Hope in His kingdom. God’s plan was in motion long before Mary and Joseph ever appeared on the scene. And yet, both of their genealogies can be traced all the way back to Jacob—a reminder that God’s promise of an everlasting, unshakable kingdom spans many generations. And it continues to unfold today!

John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Hope in the Word. Jesus came to earth as a tiny, fragile baby. And that seemingly insignificant child became the Savior of the world. The amazing thing is every promise, every prophecy, every word written about Him in Scripture came true. Since God’s Word never fails, you can place your hope in it today.

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Hope for those who believe. There were many who longed for the Messiah and Mary was one of them. So, when the angel came to her with the news of her pregnancy. She didn’t question if it would happen, she simply asked how. And it’s because her hope wasn’t tied to her circumstances or in what she could see, but it was anchored in the God who always keeps His promises.

Luke 2:10-11
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Hope for the lowly. The shepherds were at the very bottom of the social ladder-unimportant in the eyes of the world. Yet the greatest announcement heaven ever made wasn’t given to kings or scholars…but to a group of tired, ordinary, smelly shepherds. Not to those who had the most hope, but to those who needed it most.

Psalm 100:4
Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name!

Some days, no matter what comes your way, you just need to pause and praise the Lord. He’s worthy of our praise on the best days, the ordinary days, and even the days we’d rather forget. So today, lift up your voice and celebrate Him today!

Psalm 95:1-2
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

Sometimes you’re so thankful, you can’t help but have a song in your heart. Now, when it comes out, it could either be a joyful noise or a beautiful melody, but you can be sure whatever it sounds like, if it comes from a heart of thanksgiving, the LORD will be blessed to hear it.

Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

So many things try to take control of our hearts—anxieties, worries, problems we can’t solve. But thankfully, there is One who can give us peace, no matter how chaotic life feels: Jesus. When He rules in your heart, thankfulness naturally follows.

1 Chronicles 29:13
And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.

As David was preparing for his son to build the temple of the LORD, he paused to offer thanks to the One who holds all things in the palm of His hand. And that’s one reason you can give thanks to Him today too. Because He still holds the everything in His hands—He even holds you!

2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be to God for His inexpressible gift!

When you get an incredible gift you can’t help but be overwhelmed with gratefulness. Aren’t you so thankful the Almighty God gave us the best gift we could ever receive: eternal life through Jesus? Just remember: a gift that incredible is meant to be shared.

Proverbs 15:4
A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

Maybe you’ve seen an angry, rude person soften into a kind, considerate one when the person they’re speaking to responds with gentle, kind words. That’s because gentleness is like a weapon that doesn’t break its enemies—it disarms them and gives them life instead.

Titus 3:2
…to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.

If you live like Paul encourages, you might find yourself not opening your mouth as often—and that’s a good thing! He reminds us to use our words wisely to avoid the hurts and hang-ups that trip up most relationships. And when you can use gentle words, it usually leads to peace.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.

If you saw someone carrying a heavy load, you’d probably offer to help. That’s exactly what Jesus wants to do for you today—give you a chance to exchange your heavy burden for His light one. A chance to find true rest while He does the heavy lifting.
