Psalm 86:15
But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
When you’re younger, sometimes your view of God gets shaped by fear or misunderstanding. You start to see Him as distant… angry… always disappointed. And those ideas can stick with you for a long time. But the more time you spend with Him, the more you realize He isn’t like that at all. In fact, He’s the complete opposite. He is patient, kind, full of mercy and love.

Psalm 103:13
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
When you have children, you quickly realize they’re experts at making mistakes. They spill their drinks. They track mud through the house. They forget to make their beds. But that’s okay—because parents are supposed to be just as good at showing them mercy and grace.

Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
When you get up every day you take time to put on your clothes, but sometimes we forget that there’s other things that we are called to put on as well. Things that don’t have to do with how we look on the outside, but how we look on the inside.

Matthew 9:36
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
When Jesus walked this earth, He didn’t look at people with judgment brewing in His heart. He looked at them with compassion. He saw what they were facing. He understood what they were feeling. And He knew He was the only One who could truly help.

Revelation 7:17
For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and He will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
There is a day coming that will be more precious than we can imagine. A day when God Himself will wipe away every tear from your eyes. He knows your heart. He knows your story. He knows every loss you’ve ever faced. And the amazing thing is, on that day, we will finally see just how much it has always mattered to Him.

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
If you’re depending on God to guide your path, don’t expect a giant sign that says, “Go this way!” Or a map to lead you to where X marks the spot. Instead expect God to gently guide your path as you spend time reading His word.

2 Thessalonians 3:5
May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
When life is overwhelming and you just don’t feel like you can take anymore, it helps to focus your heart on two important truths. God loves you and He is faithful. So, when everything around you feels uncertain, let His love and faithfulness steady your heart.

Proverbs 11:3
The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.
Will you stay on the path, or take the shortcut? Every day you walk a path, and along the way, distractions will try to tempt you—to cut corners, take the easy way, or even to follow a crooked road. But if you can keep walking the straight path of honesty and integrity, you’ll find it leads to life and peace.

Psalm 31:3
For you are my rock and my fortress; and for Your name’s sake You lead me and guide me.
Isn’t it so nice to know you don’t have to make every decision on your own? You have a God who will not only help you, but He’ll be a safe place for you to go when you need it. So, when you feel like you don’t know which path to take, rest assured, He does.

1 Peter 4:8
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
When you’re cold and someone wraps you in a blanket, you instantly feel a sense of peace. That’s what happens when someone knows everything about you—your flaws, your mistakes, your struggles—and still chooses to love you. Because love doesn’t choose to shame or expose another’s sin; love covers it. And when it does, your heart can finally rest.

Ephesians 5:2
And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
When people love us, it often comes with conditions… ‘If you do this, I’ll do that’. Or, ‘I’ll give this to you, so that you do that for me’. But Jesus’ love doesn’t come with conditions. His love says, ‘When you wonder if I love you, just look at the cross’.

1 Corinthians 16:14
Let all that you do be done in love.
Paul learned a lot during his years of formal training under teachers like Gamaliel. He knew the law, he knew the rules, and he knew the arguments. But when he wrote to the church in Corinth, what he shared wasn’t what he learned in a classroom—it was what he learned by knowing Jesus.
