The apostle Peter declares Christ died for your sins so you could be acceptable to God.

I Peter 3:18 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; (NASB)

Christ had no need to suffer. He is God . . . He sits at the right hand of the Heavenly Father, He created all things and by Him they exist. Suffer??!!  Yet, when it came to your sins separating you from Him eternally – Christ suffered.

When Christ died on the cross He was doing it to provide God the Father with an acceptable sacrifice for your sins: the righteous (Jesus) for the unrighteous (You). But the payoff was to “bring you to God”. The Bible says “In His presence of fullness of joy”! Today you can be thankful, as a Christ-follower, that God’s only Son died for your sins so you could be brought to God . . . forever!
