The prophet Jeremiah records God’s promise of fellowship to a wayward Israel.

Jeremiah 29:13 [The Lord said] “You will seek me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” (NASB)

Every time you move toward God in love, worship, suffering or obedience — He moves closer to you!  He longs to spend time with you and reveal Himself to you.  Yet, even though the Bible is filled with love letters like today’s verse . . . how few respond.  See the promise here:  “those who seek Me will find Me.”  The joys of knowing God deeply are reserved for those who choose to spend time with Him.

Did you know that the verse where the apostle Paul says, “that I may know Him [God] and the power of His resurrection” (Philippians 3), the word for “know” is the same as when the Bible says of Jesus’ earthly father Joseph, “and he knew her not till she brought forth her first-born Son.” (Matthew 1) That’s the level of intimate relationship God wants to have with you.  How would you rate your relationship with Him?
