The apostle Paul gives thanks for the spiritual growth in one group of Christ-followers.

II Thessalonians 1:3 We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater; (NASB)

There is a special joy witnessing other Christ-followers growing in their faith!  Those who cared nothing for the Bible — now read, study and memorize it.  Those who were self-absorbed with their wants and wishes — now look to minister to the needs of others.  There is no way to account for that kind of transformation apart from the work of God in people’s lives!

At it’s beginning, the church at Thessalonica had its faults, and Paul called them out for their actions, but now he praises them for their spiritual growth and love to one another.  There’s a take-away here:  as you relate to others in the family of God . . . your gifts will grow and bless others . . . as you use them!
