The apostle Paul writes of how the Holy Spirit changes the way a Christ-follower thinks.

1 Corinthians 2:16  For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him?  But we have the mind of Christ.  (NASB)

Not surprisingly, when a person becomes a Christ-follower things begin to change.  Some ways of living, like the way we speak, may change immediately, like the testimony of some who say their habit of swearing was simply done away with!    Elsewhere in the Bible it declares, “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”  Today’s verse declares a fundamental change for a new Christ-follower – you begin to think differently!

A new Christian is a bit wobbly at first, but with time they begin to see and respond to life as Christ would.  What accounts for this change?  God’s Spirit is in you now and will begin to accomplish God’s plan for all His followers – making us like Him!  It all begins with a change in how you think . . . it’s one of the marks of a Christian.
