The unknown author writes that God knows His own and values their service on His behalf.

Hebrews 6:10  For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name . . . (NASB)

In the world there are those who come close to becoming a Christ-follower, but then back away; then there are those who take the final step and say “Yes” to the claims of Christ and genuinely become a child of God.  The question is:  how do you tell these two apart?  By their works!  Scripture says, “faith without works is dead.”

This verse assures the Christ-follower that God in heaven looks down and sees your faithful work on His behalf.  Not only does He see, but He remembers . . .  and one day He will return and gather His precious ones to Himself.  Albert Barnes wrote:  “God is not “unjust”, and He will remember an act of kindness shown to His people — even though it be nothing but giving a cup of cold water.”
