Old Testament King Solomon writes of the importance of submitting your destiny to God.

Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. (NASB)

One of the hardest things for me to do is to lay before God . . . my wishes; my passion for a certain direction for life . . . and then give Him permission to close that door!  Does that make sense?  After all, God knows the end from the beginning — He knows the right path to take!

So, instead of charging ahead with a job change, marriage, or the way you handle your money — all these must be put on the altar of sacrifice!  God must have the option to close the doors for any direction in your life.  There’s an old saying:  “hindsight is 20/20!”  If you consistently pursue God’s will over your own — you will look back someday and see how God’s guiding hand saved you, repeatedly, from pitfall and failure.
