The Heart of Thrive
Testimonials from Thrive at the Y
“I came unsure of what to expect as far as teaching and meeting new people. But my expectations were exceeded. Everyone has been super friendly. I’ve made new connections; it’s been extremely encouraging meeting singles of all ages in different life phases.”
“I came back after attending once, 20 years ago. I wasn’t sure how I would feel after going through a very painful marriage. God far-out exceeded anything I imagined. I ended up with the perfect roommates who were supportive & loving. I spread my wings and made friends with all kinds of people in different situations but showing the same bond – Jesus Christ and I didn’t feel left out or judged.”
“The worship times were wonderful, the food was great, but the saturation in the Word and the presence of God in all areas was exactly what I needed!”
“Had a very blessed experience. Enjoyed the variety of ages and mix of people, great workshops and speaker. Worship band was amazing…great songs and beautiful music. Really had a great time and happy it was lighthearted instead of heavy while still being extremely helpful to grow in my walk!”

Faithful Stewardship
Bambi Akright
Money is one of the greatest indicators of what we value and one of the greatest opportunities we have to trust God. In this interactive workshop, we will explore what Scripture teaches about stewardship, generosity, contentment, and faithful management of the resources God has entrusted to us. Rather than focusing simply on budgets or dollars, we will discover how growing in Christ transforms the way we think about money, possessions, and our purpose.
Bio
Bambi Akright lives in Wheatfield, New York, with her husband and children. She earned her bachelor’s degree in General Management from Bryant & Stratton College and spent nearly 17 years building a rising career in medical billing and office management before following God’s call into full-time ministry.
Today, Bambi serves as the Director of Operations at theWELLbuffalo, where she works alongside church leadership, trustees, and ministry teams to steward the church’s resources with excellence and integrity. Passionate about biblical stewardship, she believes that every resource God entrusts to us; our time, talents, and treasure,is an opportunity to glorify Him and advance His Kingdom!
Bambi’s desire is to encourage others to view financial stewardship not simply as money management, but as an act of worship and a tangible expression of trust in God’s provision.
