Ingredients

  •  2 Pounds Ground Turkey
  • 4-5 Carrots, Peeled and Shredded
  • 4-5 Ribs of Celery, Diced Small
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Thyme
  • 1 Tbsp Poultry Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 Cups Chicken Stock
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 1 Cup Frozen Peas
  • 2 1/2 Pounds Potatoes, Peeled
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Method-

In a large pot, brown the turkey and break it up as it cooks. Add in the carrots, celery and garlic along with the spices and cook until the celery starts to become tender- about 10 minutes. Add tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in the chicken broth and reduce the liquid to about half. Add in flour and stir to dissolve. Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to cook the flour then add in the peas and remove from the heat.

Boil the potatoes until fully cooked. Drain well and mash with the butter and cheese. Season with salt and pepper.

Transfer the meat mixture to a 9×13 pan and then top with the mashed potatoes.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Top should be golden brown.
