Family Life has a full-time opening for the Director of Events and Concert Promotions. Family Life, in its 68th year of ministry, has plans to build a new world-class headquarters in Corning, NY, that will allow for the growth and expansion of our Performing Arts, events, and Hope & Healing counseling ministry departments, as well as our regional Radio network, which consists of over 75 broadcast signals in New York and Pennsylvania. The Events Director will support and promote ministry outreach through various events, including concerts, conferences, dinner events, and public relations meetings. The individual chosen to fill this position will have the opportunity of working with a talented team of over 65 staff members. An overwhelming sense of God’s call to use one’s talents and life to advance His work are necessary requirements to fill this position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all Family Life events
- Plan, schedule, organize, and execute Family Life events, including:
- Concerts
- Retreats
- Luncheons
- Dinner Concerts
- Youth Theater Workshops
- Theatrical Productions
- Be involved in all event-related meetings and ensure proper communication with staff regarding event goals, responsibilities, and follow up
- Develop and maintain high professional standards and procedures for production of events
- Maintain exemplary relationships with caterers, churches, venues, printers, and other external vendors and identify appropriate new business and ministry relationships
- Negotiate vendor contracts within strict budgetary parameters
- Coordinate with various departments within Family Life to execute events, including facilities, A/V, ticket office, IT, graphic design, food service, and others as appropriate
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Reflect a godly character of humility and servanthood, as enabled by God, in all leadership functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma and one (1) year of progressively responsible community relations experience with a direct responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating, developing, evaluating and/or administering large events and special projects or a community service program/activity; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a focus on Hospitality, Tourism, or Events Management
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; meticulous organizational, project management, and time management skills
- The temperament to interact with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant, and professional manner; ability to exercise independent judgment when appropriate
- Ability to work well under pressure; self-motivated with a proven ability to solve problems; aptitude for working collaboratively under varying degrees of supervision
- Fully competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
OTHER
- This position requires working some nights and weekends with overnight travel when necessary
- Be part of Family Life’s Management Team
- Attend weekly all-staff meetings on Wednesday mornings
- Be available for the entire week for Spring and Fall Sharathons
- Report directly to the CEO
- Supervise Events Department staff
SALARY
$50,000- $55,000/ year
The initial compensation for the chosen candidate is determined by various job-related elements such as education, experience, and training. The position also comes with an array of benefits such as medical coverage, a Health Savings Account, a Health Reimbursement Arrangement, a 403(b) plan with matching contributions, life insurance, disability benefits, ten paid holidays, five PTO days, and ten vacation days allowable within the first year.
