Family Life Ministries has an opening for a full-time Volunteer Coordinator & Events Assistant. This is an opportunity to work with a trusted Christian ministry where Jesus is at the heart of everything we do. Family Life, in its 68th year of ministry, includes full-time departments in Performing Arts, Biblical Counseling, and Events, as well as our regional Radio Ministry. Family Life considers its radio outreach to be a sacred trust to communicate the gospel of Christ through a blended approach of contemporary Christian music, strategically placed Bible teaching programs, and family-oriented, inspiring drama. Currently the Network has over 75 radio outlets of FM stations and translators.
The individual chosen to fill this position will have the opportunity of working with a talented team of over 65 staff members. The Volunteer Coordinator & Events Assistant must be a follower of Jesus Christ as they will represent Family Life to volunteers and others in various capacities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position involves oversight of the volunteer team and all processes related to planning and execution of volunteer-related activities. This individual is also responsible for assisting with general event preparation and planning as needed.
Volunteer Coordinator responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and managing the Family Life volunteer program
- Implement and maintain the volunteer data management system, including volunteer sign-ups in Salesforce and other administrative support for all volunteer needs.
- Recruit volunteers for all Family Life on-site and off-site events
- Communicate promptly with new and prospective volunteers
- Organize and oversee volunteer training, including ongoing development
- Coordinate volunteer schedules for event setup, execution, and teardown
- Oversee volunteers during on-site and off-site events as needed
Events Support
- Assist the Events Director and Events Team with event-related tasks as needed
- Support event production by following established procedures and professional standards
- Maintain positive relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls related to events and volunteers
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must maintain a positive Christian testimony through a vibrant, active, and strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and event details simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with volunteers, staff, and external partners
- Proven administrative skills, including scheduling, record-keeping, and document preparation
- Experience recruiting, coordinating, and supporting volunteers or event staff, preferably in a nonprofit, ministry, or event setting
- Proficiency with databases or CRM systems, such as Salesforce, and Microsoft Office
- Flexible and service-oriented attitude, with willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or special events
- Ability to work independently while also taking direction and feedback well
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in fast-paced, event-driven environments
SALARY
$35,000- $45,000/ year
The initial compensation for the chosen candidate is determined by various job-related elements such as education, experience, and training. The position also comes with an array of benefits, including medical coverage, a Health Savings Account, a Health Reimbursement Arrangement, a 403(b) plan with matching contributions, life insurance, disability benefits, ten paid holidays, five PTO days, and ten vacation days available within the first year.
