Ingredients

  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/4 Cup Whole Milk
  • 2 Slices of Bread
  • 1 Pound Ground Beef 80%
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Dehydrated Apple Slices
  • 1 Cup Apple Juice or Cider
  • 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Cornstarch
  • 1 Tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1/4 Tsp Cayenne Pepper

Method-

Whisk together the egg and milk. Tear up the bread into tiny pieces and add to the milk mixture. Add in the beef, salt, pepper, garlic, cayenne and apples. Make about 24 mini meatballs. Heat a large skillet and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove the meatballs and drain on a paper towel. Wipe down the pan and remove any fat.

Mix together the cider, brown sugar, soy sauce, cornstarch, ginger and cayenne. Pour into the skillet and bring to a boil, stirring often. Allow to thicken, boiling for about 5 minutes. Add back in the meatballs and toss to glaze. Serve over rice for a meal or as is for a tasty appetizer. Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds
