Chocolate Cobbler Cake

  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 2/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder, Unsweetened
  • 2 Tbsp Butter, Melted
  • 1/2 Cup Whole Milk
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla

For the topping:

  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder, Unsweetened
  • 1 Cup Boiling Water

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cocoa. Add in the melted butter, milk and vanilla. Whisk until smooth. Pour into a greased 9×9 pan and spread even.

In a separate bowl, mix together the sugars, salt and cocoa. Sprinkle over the cake batter. Pour the boiling water over the cake and bake at 300 degrees for about 30 minutes. Test the cake with a fork to judge the doneness, cake top should be a little jiggly. Allow to cool for five minutes before serving with vanilla ice cream!
