Use a good “baking apple” like Cortland, Empire or Granny Smith!
About 3 Pounds of Apples Peeled, Cored and thinly sliced
1 Cup Sugar
1 Tsp Cinnamon
1/4 Tsp Salt
1 Cup Fresh Whole Cranberries
1 Tbsp Honey
1/2 Stick of Butter, cubed
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar (Packed)
3/4 Cup Flour
1 Cup Chopped Walnuts
In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Spray a 9×13 pan and place apples in the pan. Top with cranberries and drizzle honey over top.
In another large bowl, combine butter, brown sugar and flour with a pastry cutter until crumbly. Add walnuts. Cover the apple mixture with the topping and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Topping should be golden brown and apples should be cooked.
Let cool on a rack for about 30 minutes then cut and serve with fresh whipped cream! Serves 8
