The apostle Paul writes that Christ-follower has a specific role to play in daily life.
2 Corinthians 5:20 We are ambassadors for Christ. (ESV)
When a person becomes a Christ-follower, they are freed from slavery to sinful ways, they become adopted into God’s family, and they have an inheritance like a natural born child! In addition, they become a representative of the Savior — acting in His place. Specifically, we are to share what Christ did on the cross to reconcile sinful people to a loving God. It’s good news!
Let me venture to say Christ-followers are being watched by a world – tired of following that which does not bring lasting peace, does not love unconditionally, and does not satisfy. When people hear you are of Christ, they seek to know if your life backs up His message! Whether you say any word or not, if those about know you call yourself “Christian” – they will watch your actions, reactions, and your words. Today, remember your citizenship is in heaven, and you are an ambassador for Christ!
