My son, he is 33. He spoke to me yesterday and he spoke about how worthless he feels. I can see the far awayness in his eyes. He does not hear all that I say when I talk to him. He talks about the friends who he knew when he was in school who had taken their lives. I asked him if he thought about that and he said he does sometimes. This isn't the first time that I've heard these words from him. My son went through school on an IEP, He only had a slight learning disability, but he fell through the cracks there. He was bullied often through school, but there was some good that came through a caring wrestling coach. But my son always went through life wanting to be good at something, but never quite good enough if you know what I mean. Under the surface, because it hurts so much, never quite good enough. It was rough, but I thought we were beyond all that. John has been out of school for 14 years. At age 26 he married, she is 4 years younger than he. I believe I prayed for her and her mother said the same to me about my son, how he was an answer to her prayers for her daughter. His wife is not perfect. She can be very angry and say things to my son that are absolutely awful. She is controlling about everything in my sons' life, especially his time. I think she is somewhat abusive. But yet, she is good too. I see good in her as well. They have a little boy who is two now, A beautiful little boy who is very sweet and smart. There is so much. I don't know what to say. Such a beautiful little family so perfect outwardly in many ways. They have a little dog who knows only love because my son has only showed him love. I have seen my son with that same love for his little boy in the days when he was born, my son stayed with him in the hospital, never leaving his side, going without food for the whole day not to leave him. The baby had breathing problems when he was born. My son is in love with his son and his wife. He tries so hard. and I know she loves him too. We all fight battles that no one knows of. But lately I see my son push away even in ways from his son. Like he is distancing himself. I think he is deeply considering suicide. My son is deeply hurt I can tell by the way he talks often about his place of work and how others are given positions above him. He is so hurt and angry. It is what he talks about often. He told me yesterday as I drove him and his little boy home, I had picked him up from dropping his wife's car off at the shop to be fixed. He spoke of things, He said he felt worthless. He said that he wanted to have his own business. I told him that it is hard work to make a living with your own business. He heard words I did not say. He got defensive and a little angry. But he is never angry for long. He said he was sorry, But I see his sadness... I hurt for him and other than reaching out for prayer. I don't know what else to do....
