Family Life Ministries has an opening for a full-time Events Assistant. Family Life, in its 67th year of ministry, has plans to build a new world-class headquarters in Corning, NY that will allow for the growth and expansion of our performing arts, events, and Hope & Healing counseling ministry departments, as well as our regional radio network which consists of nearly 75 broadcast signals in New York and Pennsylvania. The Events Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of ministry events, serving as an integral member of the team that brings excellence and care to every outreach opportunity.
The individual chosen to fill this position will have the opportunity of working with a talented team of over 60 staff members. An overwhelming sense of God’s call to use one’s talents and life to advance His work are necessary requirements to fill this position. The Events Department Assistant must be a follower of Jesus Christ as they will represent Family Life to the volunteers, artists, guests, and other staff.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the organization, oversight, and execution of events

- Uphold a high standard of excellence in organizational detail and process management
- Support event planning from start to finish, maintaining both big-picture awareness and attention to detail
- Coordinate with artists, churches, venues, staff, and volunteers
- Manage event-related forms, schedules, and internal processes
- Assist with research and outreach for artists, speakers, and venues
- Help with travel, lodging, and hospitality arrangements
- Partner with the publicity team on event promotion and maintaining event info online
- Back up the Co-Sponsorship Coordinator as needed
- Lead the planning and execution of assigned events
- Collect and organize event feedback
- Track expenses and ensure timely communication

- Work well both independently and as part of a team
- Help train administrative staff within the Events Department
- Support all aspects of event planning and communication with excellence
- Assist with event set up and tear down as needed
- Attend weekly staff and team meetings, and participate in leadership development
- Take part in Sharathons and other fundraising events
- Represent Family Life’s values in all interactions
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Events Director
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and ClickUp a plus
- Passionate about the mission and vision of Family Life and how it translates to people inside and outside Family Life
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy a must
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; meticulous organizational, project management, and time management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure; self-motivated with a proven ability to solve problems; aptitude for working collaboratively under varying degrees of supervision

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
An associate’s degree is required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred. (Equivalent administrative office experience may be considered in place of a degree.) Prior involvement in event planning, ministry work, or related fields is preferred.
MISCELLANEOUS PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of time on your feet for events
- Required to work nights and weekends as well as some overnight travel when necessary
- Availability for the entire week for both Spring and Fall Sharathons
SALARY
$32,240- $40,000/ year
The initial compensation for the chosen candidate is determined by various job-related elements such as education, experience, and training. The position also comes with an array of benefits such as medical coverage, a Health Savings Account, a Health Reimbursement Arrangement, a 403(b) plan with matching contributions, life insurance, disability benefits, ten paid holidays, five PTO days, and ten vacation days allowable within the first year.
