Kate McKan and her friends have been doing this every January 29th the past five years.
It’s to honor McKan’s infant son, Mason, who died of SIDS in 2012. She’s says having something to look forward to helps in the healing process.
On Random Acts of Kindness Day, McKan and her friends do things like hand out gift-cards and cash to complete strangers and pay for the meals of the people behind them at the fast-food drive-thrus.
McKan says random acts of kindness day is healing to her as much as it is helpful to those who benefit from her generosity.
