Family Life Sharathons are the primary method of raising the financial support needed to operate the ministry over a six-month period. Though there are several ways that Family Life receives operating funds throughout the year, by far the largest of those is the Spring and Fall sharathon. Sharathons take place as a live, on-air event over a four-day period. Regular radio programming is suspended during this time as announcers share how God works through the various arms of ministry. Popular music artists and program hosts are interviewed, uplifting music is played, and listeners become faith partners by financially supporting Family Life with their called-in faith promises or online donations. During the Sharathon, special challenges and contests create huge excitement and make Sharathon listening a highlight for listeners! Sharathon totals are updated each hour with anticipation and thrill building as the total reaches closer to the goal. Included in the Sharathon festivities is a 5K race and a chicken barbeque on the final day. You can understand why many financial partners call this their favorite event of the year!

You read the headlines or listen to the talking heads on television and you become disillusioned over the state of our country. You wonder how long our precious religious freedoms to worship the Lord as we please will be around. You go to work every day with a heavy heart because the company that you work for has bought into all the woke thinking and philosophies of our current culture. You realize that standing for truth is not only becoming more difficult, but it could cost you your job. You go through each day with a burden almost unbearable because one of your family members has decided to walk away from the faith that they once held so near. You wonder if there is any hope that they will ever come back to the Lord.
There is always hope with God!
But then you remember that there is always hope as you read the verse in the book of Romans where it says, “What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” There are so many promises found in God’s Word that let us know that He is for us. He is greater than the one who is in the world! With God, all things are possible!
Family Life holds two Sharathons each year asking you and thousands of others to help with all the ongoing expenses for the next six months. Our need is great as we ask the Lord to provide the $2.5 million dollars through His people. You are part of His plan when you choose to be involved in the Fall Sharathon.
The Fall Sharathon will take place October 5-8. You can get involved in different ways:

- Give your gift online.
- You can get involved in the excitement of the four-day event and call in your faith promise during the Sharathon.
Whichever way, and whatever amount the Lord puts on your heart to give, please know that your investment pays heavenly dividends in changed lives as we communicate the truth that GOD IS FOR US!

During each day of the Sharathon, we ask that you would take 5 minutes a day to partner with us in prayer over the following list.
- Thank the Lord for His wonderful provision in helping Family Life through a difficult economic time. Pray that God would bless in an incredible way in the upcoming Fall Sharathon that the ministry might be able to keep current with all its ongoing expenses.
- Thank God for the new staff that He has brought to the ministry to help fill many important positions. Pray that the Lord would continue to lead the right people to Family Life so that the departments in Radio, Performing Arts, IT, and Events would be able to function at their maximum.
- Thank the Lord for allowing the ministry to resume having a number of events throughout New York and Pennsylvania after the Covid-19 pandemic. Pray for the Events Department as they are looking at a very busy schedule for this school year and beyond and that God would use these events to bring glory to Himself.
- Thank God for opening the doors for a number of new stations to go on the air while also getting FCC permission to enhance the signals of others. Pray that the Lord would continue to work causing the FCC to grant a few more permissions as Family Life is looking for to expand even further with new radio stations.
- Thank the Lord for the wonderful group of men and women who make up the Family Life Board of Directors. Pray that God would continue to give this group wisdom and insight as many major decisions are being made at each meeting.
- Thank God for the blessing of having thousands of people praying for and contributing financially to the ministry. Pray that the Lord would raise up hundreds more first-time contributors during the Fall Sharathon to help make up the difference from those whose financial situation has caused them to cut their support.
- Thank the Lord for the dream of a new headquarters and Performing Arts Center in the Corning area and for the direction He has given to the ministry in making some adjustments to the site plan. Pray that God would give Family Life victory with the Town of Erwin as the organization has to go back to square one in getting zoning approvals.
- Thank God for the legacy of 65 years of ministry reaching hundreds of thousands of people over that time period. Pray that the Lord would continue to keep the staff and leadership of Family Life faithful to the call and obedient to His leading as we continue to serve Him and those in the sphere of influence He has given to the ministry.
- Thank the Lord for each ministry department at Family Life – Radio, Performing Arts, Hope & Healing Counseling, and Events. Pray that God would help each of these departments be the most effective and productive that they can be for His glory.
- Thank God for His favor and blessing upon the ministry as we have seen Him allow for some explosive growth over the past few years. Pray that the ministry would be sensitive to His leading and that Family Life would know the mind of the Lord as we continue to move forward in reaching more people with the message of hope found in Jesus Christ!

Family Life Virtual 5k

Join us for the Family Life Virtual 5k which will be held in conjunction with the Fall Sharathon as the ministry raises support to cover operating expenses for the next six months. After registering online, participants will receive a packet in the mail with their race shirt and race number! Participants of all ages can run, walk, jog, on their own, at any time between when they register and October 8th.
