JOB SUMMARY
The Marketing and Communications Manager will help to promote the corporate identity and mission to faith partners, customers, volunteers, the public, and listeners through the creation and distribution of brochures, flyers, and other documents. Additionally will oversee, coordinate, and participate in the development of marketing strategies and products for the organization. The position works closely with creative service vendors and the CS Videographer/ Photographer, to ensure promotions are completed for upcoming Family Life events and projects as required. The Marketing & Communications Manager is a full-time position that is a part of the Creative Service team and reports directly to the COO.
An overwhelming sense of God’s call to use one’s talents and life to advance His work, as well as a vibrant, active, and strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ, are necessary requirements to fulfill this position. Maintaining a positive Christian testimony, including disciplining oneself, abstaining from all appearances of evil, and regular involvement in a local church are required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees the daily management of event promotion requests, workflow, scheduling, and communication with key partners and other departments.
- Manage project timetables and key players on deliverables.
- Brand management to ensure cohesive use across all communication channels.
- Quality review of completed marketing and projects.
- Writing copy for event promotions, social media, and the website.
- Creating social media outlines for Creative Services vendors for upcoming events/projects.
- Sending assignments to Creative Services vendor, follow up, and utilizing assets once completed.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (included but are not limited to)
- Directs and implements the organization’s advertising and promotional activities.
- Responsible for creating, implementing, and measuring the success of strategic marketing, communications, and digital campaigns that will enhance Family Life’s message in our surrounding communities.
- Form and administer traditional and digital marketing strategies and communication plans with Creative Services vendor to expand and grow the radio network and ministries.
- Ensure Family Life’s brand is consistently communicated throughout our communication channels
- Partner with Creative Services vendor to have graphics created, and promotional materials executed and marketed.
- Manage the use of logos and images that represent Family Life.
- Develop and maintain a system to organize, prioritize and communicate promotional items related to Family Life.
- Create communication strategies to market, inform and promote radio, performing arts, biblical counseling, events, and other ministry activities.
- Oversee all written materials, writing or approving all collateral and digital materials.
- Create or oversee bi-monthly electronic newsletter.
- Manage all efforts related to the creation of graphics and layouts for the Family Life website.
- Proactively work with IT and the Creative Team to make sure Family Life maintains an effective presence on the web including style/presence, search engines, and new technology.
- Write website materials as needed.
- Manage ongoing social media messaging and communication strategies for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with Creative Services vendor to build following.
- Communicate style guide, communication strategy, and social media strategy to staff, partners, and key volunteers; follow up to ensure implementation across Family Life.
- Assist leadership by formulating internal communication messages to staff, partners, and key volunteer leaders. Provide input on disseminating information related to Family Life events, projects, etc.
- Help to design and implement internal communications processes.
- Weekly call with Creative Services vendor to coordinate efforts.
- Collaborates with senior executives and department heads to develop promotional plans for the organization.
- Supporting the ministry outreach by marketing and promotion.
- Participate in auditorium set up and tear down for Family Life events.
- Participate in and attend weekly staff meetings.
- Active involvement with various elements of semi-annual sharathons as assigned.
- Upholding the values of Family Life while interacting with faith partners, customers, volunteers, and anyone engaging with the ministry.
- Assisting with other duties as needed, at the discretion of the COO.
